The speed limits in Spain
are as follows:
 | Outside populated areas:
 | Motorways and highways: Cars and motorcycles, 120 kms per hour;
buses and small vans, 80 km. per hour; lorries and articulated vehicles, 90 km. per hour;
and cars with trailers, 80 km. per hour.

 | Main Roads: cars and motorcycles, 100 km. per hour; buses and
small vans, 90 km. per hour; lorries and cars with trailers, 80 km. per hour.

 | Normal Roads: cars and motorcycles, 90 km. per hour; buses and
small vans, 80 km. per hour; lorries and cars with trailers, 70 km. per hour.

 | Slower speeds exist for school buses and special transport, etc.

 | In populated areas:
 | The speed limit in city roads and streets is 50 km. per hour,
except for vehicles transporting dangerous goods, for which the limit is 40 km. per hour.
|
 | There may be lower limits, which must be duly signalled.
Similarly, there may be higher limits on motorways and highways which run through the city
or town, and, again, these must be duly signalled.
