The price |

The agreed price must also be clearly stated in the contract, with all the relevant specifications (per day, per kilometre etc.). a) Freedom to Determine Price In Spain, these prices are not regulated, but the company must display the rates applied to the public by means of price lists or information leaflets. Obviously, prices vary greatly from one company to another and even within the same company. Price depends on the type of vehicle, range, accessory equipment etc. Thus, prices and types of contract should be compared before one chooses a particular company, since price differences are indeed great. b) Criteria for establishing Price Prices can be established according to very diverse criteria, but the most common forms of contract are twofold:
c) Special Discounts It is advisable to enquire about the existence of special rates, as these exist, for example, for clients of certain hotels, users of certain credit cards or regular passengers of some airlines. There are also normally special prices for weekends or for longer periods etc. Prices may also vary for high season and low season. Enquire about this in the hire company itself or in your hotel or Travel Agency. d) Deposit Some establishments require the payment of a deposit which will be returned at the end of the rent period if no problems arise. In some cases, the customer is asked to sign a blank credit card slip - this constitutes a great risk to the customer and should be avoided at all costs.
