| The European School Of Consumers
depends legally on the Council for Health, Consumerism and Social Welfare, the Directional
Department of Health and Consumerism, the Service for Consumerism, Government of
Cantabria, which will carry out the surveillance and supervision of the School's
activities. The management of the school has been contracted out, via open public tender , to a private enterprise with wide experience in the world of consumerism , whose activity centres on information and education of European consumers. The position of Director of the School is to be assumed by a person of widely known and recognised professional prestige in the world of consumer education on an international scale. The nomination is to be put forward by the enterprise commissioned with the managemnt of the school and must be accepted by the Administration of Consumerism of the Regional Government and by the European Commission. The Plans and annual report of the School , are to be approved by a Management Council, chaired by the Councillor for Health, Consumerism and Social Welfare of the Government of Cantabria or the person delegated thereby. Such council will be composed of the Director General for Health and Consumerism, the head of the Service for Consumerism and, should the case be, by representatives of public and private institutions with whom agreements of collaboration are drawn up. The Director of The European School of Consumers will act as technical Secretary of the Council. The project is to be carried out with financial support from European Commision DG XXIV. |
