Practical Workshops

Main objective :

  • To bring students from different levels of education in touch with the world of consumerism, via practical, motivational, and "hands-on" activities and game.

Specific contents:

  • Key activities in the areas of : advertising,food, the home,games,toys,school material; ecology and consumerism; money;purchases;public services;health and safety;travel;leisure and free time.

Target Profile:

  • Students from Infant, Primary, Compulsory Secondary , Bacaulaureate, Professional Training Technical Colleges and Adults (or their equivalents from other European countries), accompanied by their teachers.

Methodology:

  • The development of practical activities: comparative analysis, simple laboratory tasks, research into products and services, case studies, simulated purchases and other situations , etc.
  • Activity development: In small groups, 3 days a week, max. of 30 persons per session, 2 sessions daily.

How can persons participate ?

  • By prior appointment. Priority will be shown to education centres participating in the Four Year Plan and / or in the Consumer Education Network and other similar plans.

Documentation Centre

Contents:

  • Written , audiovisual and computerised material related with information and education of European consumers.
  • Access to INFO CONSUMO and other databases on consumerism.
  • Access to Internet

Target users:

  • Professionals and general public · Priority will be shown to persons undertaking or who have undertaken courses in the European School.

How can access be obtained?

  • The centre will remain open to the public according to the timetable displayed at the entrance. For specfic work access will be obtained by prior appointment.

Exhibition

Contents:

  • Practical material and research material of consumer interest. Materials developed in the courses and activities carried out in the school.

Target users:

  • The general public

How can access be obtained ?

  • In hours open to the public according to the timetable displayed at the entrance

Production of Studies and Reports

Contents:

  • Consumer and user behaviour,levels of satisfaction, consumer education and information and other aspects considered to be of interest.

Target users:

  • Public and private consumer organisms.The results of the studies may be edited and published by the European School of consumers and / or the organisms interested therein.

How can research work be commissioned?

  • By prior petition, agreement and signing of a collaboration agreement establishing conditions.

Development of Didactical material

Contents:

  • Subject areas of current interest, in accordance with the Four Year Plan and the priorities of the European Community. The material can be developed for different media .

Target users:

  • Persons and private and public institutions related to Consumer Education.

How can the School be commissioned for Material Development ?

  • By prior request,agreement and signing of a collaboration agreement establishing conditions

Follow-up of four year Plan

Contents:

  • Public competition on areas of interest established in each moment by the Order establishing in the BOC (Official Bulletin of Cantabria) each phase of the Plan and the priorities laid down by the European Commmunity.

Target users:

  • Teaching staff in the Autonomous Region of Cantabria

How can access to the Four Year Plan be obtained?

  • Via the procedure laid out each year in the BOC.
