A point of reference and a starting point from which to potentiate , motivate, drive, develop, and give maximum backing to the education of European Consumers, so that they may become conscious,critical, responsible,united, and in touch with their environment . In other words able to defend their rights and ready to take on obligations with the same drive.

The "Four Year plan for Consumer Education in normative non-university education" set in action by this Council, in the academic year 95/96, was the first step. Consequently it has been seen that the teachers are willing to actively participate in proposals related to the education of young consumers.

The European School of Consumers , with its base in Cantabria is now a tangible reality.It boasts a physical space tailored to its needs , and is founded upon the proposals, agreements and community guidelines in the area of Consumer Policy and prioritises the European dimension of Consumer Education.
