España

Introduction

The Spanish financial system is set up through the Ministry of Economy and Inland Revenue. It is made up of institutions, media and markets. As the economic system of this country is based on free market, its function consists in capturing savers' money so as to lend it to entities, public bodies or private individuals, whose final destiny is the acquisition of goods, or investment. This whole scheme is performed by means of the charging and payment of interests and commissions which the market regulates and the Bank of Spain controls. The correct functioning of this system, notwithstanding its necessary transparency and correct information, has to provide monetary and financial stability to the economy and an adequate service to the consumer.
